Well we were given two weeks to complete the secondary application, which is the application that will be used to place you with a host family. It was 24 pages long consisting of lots of questions about your hobbies, habits, personality, etc. There were also medical forms, teacher forms, school forms, a letter from your parents was needed for the host family to read as well as a letter from me to them. I successfully have completed this application! WOOO! So currently my application has been emailed in and all the froms sent off the Maine to the CIEE office. There is nothing more I can do but wait for my family and town. Lots and lots and lots of planning will be to come, but for now I just have to wait for further word from Juliette Van de Geer, who is the head of the CBYX scholarship at CIEE. Exciting exciting exciting. I want the school year to be OVER NOW.

Early Details
So, as in my previous post, I AM GOING TO GERMANY!
woooo!
It is official, CIEE called me on Friday. I had been refreshing my email all day long, because that is how they previously told us they would be informing us with. I was at my father’s store, and my phone had died around 12. So when I got home and logged on to facebook I almsot cried because I had no email, and another CBYXer, Blake’s, status was GERMANY. I automatically thought I didn’t get, and by this time my phone had been plugged in and turned back on. I listened to my new voicemail and I cannot explain the feeling that comes with Juliette, the head lady over CBYX at CIEE, telling you that you have been accepted and congratulations. I have never screamed so much in my life.
Well, here are some early plans: CIEEer’s are meeting in Washington, DC on August 4th, 2011. We will be there for pre-departure orentaition and to begin to get to know each other. Then off to GERMANY on August 6th, 2011. We will be together for three weeks in an currently unknown to be location for a language and cultural emersion camp. Then it’s off to our host families for the year.
I am extremely excited to meet everyone in DC, and of course to go to Germany. I’ll be keeping up with this blog as much as possible to document my planning and journey through the next year.
